Get Involved
When looking for an internship for a month I was looking for something that would provide me with an opportunity to give but also to learn, and BOMAH turned out to be a great choice in this respect. I was immediately impressed by the passion of the organisations founder Itzik Yarkoni and I soon realised that’s Itzik’s idea of rebranding Israel through personal stories wasn’t just a sales pitch but his personal life philosophy. I found his passion very inspiring and despite the fact that social media has never been my field of interest I now have a much better understanding of how-if used properly-social media can be a useful and enjoyable tool as opposed to a necessary evil( which is how I previously considered it).
I really enjoyed the fact that while working for BOMAH I could sit across the table from my boss and argue my point of view, and that my ideas would be considered no matter how off the wall they were. I enjoyed attending the multiple workshops that BOMAH organised throughout December, writing articles that I needed to edit and re-edit until they were considered perfect by the powers that be; but most of all I loved the fact that at BOMAH everyone worked because they believed in the work that they were doing.
So in conclusion-I have learnt what the term search optimisation means and how to name articles so that they come up in the first few options on a Google search. However although these facts are wonderful to know that’s not primarily what I gained from this internship. What I gained from working at BOMAH was an opportunity to work with people who are as passionate about Israel as I am and who –instead of moaning about how the world is treating Israel unfairly, got up and started creating a solution to the problem.
Hence as a result of this conclusion I have decided that I going to continue being part of the BOMAH philosophy and positively rebranding Israel my way.

Intern, BOMAH Working with BOMAH for the past few months has been a life changing experience for me. I am so fortunate to have a boss like Itzik Yarkoni who pushes me to the limit. Throughout my time here I have managed social media accounts, written articles, lead workshops, attended events, conferences, and programs about social media and public diplomacy for Israel. The people who I've met along the way and the stories I've heard have forever changed the way I think about Israel.
Every day there is always a new challenge to overcome. He has been a great mentor, teaching me the in's and out's of the social media world. Itzik trained me in time management and instructed me on work ethic. He allowed me the freedom to get the most out of my time here. The experience I gained here depended on how far I was willing to push myself and sometimes step outside of my comfort zone.
During my 5 month internship here in Israel I have helped spread awareness about the personal and positive side of Israel online. I have made a difference in the way people think about Israel which for me is the best part about working for BOMAH. Itziks passion is contagious and he has motivated me to continue with digital marketing and to keep fighting for the Jewish State.

Who Are We?
BOMAH – The Brand of Milk & Honey (www.bomah.org) positively re-brands Israel by identifying why Israel is important and demonstrating how to share personal stories through social media. Our focus is to help program participants translate their personal Israel experiences into messages and inspiration for others. BOMAH focuses on the power of the individual, building relationships, and personal narratives. This program will empower you to take these concepts into the social media world.
We empower groups and college students to take the lead in local Jewish social media. It is our duty to help improve the atmosphere on campuses and in our communities regarding Israel. Program graduates will gain tools to add valuable, real-time content on the web including video, tweets, and blogs to communicate a cohesive message to the public.
The program is founded on the belief that Jewish college students are interested in building their own community. By giving them the resources, support, and training they need, Jewish student communities will flourish.
The Internship
We are looking for interns to assist with our vision for re-branding Israel through “storytelling.” This internship is a unique opportunity in which you will have the chance to participate using our new strategy to brand Israel online and pioneer a unique social media strategy that connects people who care about Israel across the world.
Interns are expected to have experience with social media on at least a personal level and preferably on a business level. Must be able to think strategically and use your skills and tools to incorporate social media into our new and unique storytelling strategy. Interns will assist in formulating social media plans and then carry them out with staff assistance. You will track and record the impact of our social media activity, and then suggest action steps to increase awareness. Interns will also assist CEO Itzik Yarkoni in crafting social media workshops for participants visiting Israel from around the world.
